West-Whitehill Winery

About

The winery is a family business where our cool, yet sunny climate is particularly suited for the cultivation of the finest French American grapes. We take pride in the hard work and dedication that has gone into the creation of our award winning wines, and we would love nothing more than for you to stop by the winery for a complimentary tasting and some good, old fashioned conversation. History

Owner Steve West started the business from a few acres of grapes in 1981 and homemade machines to producing thousands of cases of more than eight varieties. He is assisted by winemaker and winery manager Tyler Wilkins whom you meet when you stop by the winery. His daughter, Amanda West has now joined him in management of the vineyard and business.

Estate Vineyards / AVA

Located in Hardy County in the eastern panhandle, the South Branch Valley lies in a unique 'rain shadow', which receives less rain than anywhere else in the state, making it more ideal for growing grapes than surrounding areas.
