Our winery specializes in award-winning Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscat Canelli made both Dry and Sweet. We also offer a delicious Sparkling wine Grand Cuvee. The vast majority of the grapes for these wines are grown on the estate and the rest from growers for the winery in the immediate region.

Shadow Mountain Vineyards beginnings started in 1945 when Agusto Mase and his wife Helen, Italian immigrants, planted the first vineyard which is still in production and bears his name. The second generation of the family continued in this family tradition, by planting extensive vineyards in the 1960′s and 70′s. Alex and Pam, purchased the estate in 1990.

The location of Sunshine Summit, which overlooks the beautiful Hot Springs Mountains to the east and the historic Valle de San Jose, home of the famous Warner Springs Ranch. Being in the mountains with scenic views and crisp fresh air, gives a different impression of the diversity of San Diego County. The famous Palomar Observatory and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the largest in the state park system, as well as the historic mining town of Julian now known for it's delicious apple pies, are all within the area.
