Our vision is to offer a creative narrative within the classic Rutherglen region, through aromatic, expressive wine styles that intrigue and excite. With an emphasis on quality, the vineyard is managed and harvested by hand. This artisan approach continues through to the winery to create a focused range of white, red and after-dinner wines.

Wines are made onsite by Rowly Milhinch, a great-great-great grandson of George Francis Morris, the founding father of Morris Wines (est. 1859).

History

Scion was established in 2002 on a small hill just south of the Rutherglen township. We chose our site for its unique combination of soils, northern aspect and gentle slope. After planting eight acres of vines, we built Cellar Door taking advantage of views across our piece of the Australian countryside.
