About

Saginaw is a small vineyard originally planted by the Byler family. It is still operated by the family and specializes in traditional, hand-crafted Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris and Rose’ of Pinot Noir. Enjoy country life in our 100-year-old farmstead barn the barn glows with charm and offers indoor seating by candlelight. Outdoor seating under the vineyard’s grand walnut tree provides shade and peaceful views of the lambs, the grapes and the hills that trim Saginaw’s breathtaking scenery. Vineyard owners-operators Scott and Cheryl Byler pair French crepes with glasses of wine produced through their refined handmade, artisan wine making process. Guests can order crepes at the bar in the tasting room

Location Description

Saginaw Vineyard is at the southernmost tip of the Willamette Valley in a unique micro-climate created where the valley floor rises and the Coast Range meets the foothills of the Cascades.

History

We opened our tasting room in 2001.

Estate Vineyards / AVA

The vineyard is planted at 620 feet of elevation in Chehalis and Newberg alluvial loam soils with four acres of Pinot Noir (Wadensville, Pommard, and Dijon clones) and four acres of Pinot Gris (Clones 68 and 152). Two additional acres are planted to Muller Thurgau, Chardonnay, and Marechal Foch for making small batches of specialty wines.
