History
Our story begins in 2012 with our first commercial harvest while simultaneously beginning restoration of our 100+ year old barn which now serves as our production facility and tasting room. Our winemaker, Jeff Crowder completed his formal education in 2014 after graduating from Washington State University's Enology Program and validating his passion for crafting premium artisan wines.
Location was also on our side... With over 300 "sunny" days a year, our unique grape growing climate is influenced by the lake itself. Known as “lake effect”, Lake Chelan moderates temperatures throughout the growing season and helps to protect against frost damage by radiating heat absorbed during the summer in the cooler months of fall and winter. This has an effect of extending the "hang time" of the fruit on the vine which allows sugars and acids in the grape to stay in balance. With the recent approval of the Lake Chelan American Viticultural Area (AVA), and the growing success of our thriving wine valley, pursuing our dream of crafting wine in Lake Chelan just made sense.
As we continue to produce premium artisan wines, our family is excited for what the future holds. We have ambitions of growing our brand while preserving our traditional, hand-crafted approach of producing award-wining wines that age well. Our highly acclaimed wines and are best enjoyed with good food and good company. Our family looks forward to sharing them with you.
