Mt. Konocti Growers

About

Mt. Konocti Winery produces only the finest fruit, which goes into making quality wines. Our pears and grapes are grown by a cooperation of four families who are as committed to the environment as they are to their family business. The families who make up Mt. Konocti Winery take great pride in knowing the products they raise are done with the well being of mother nature in mind. In addition to working outdoors and maintaining the health of the environment, Mt. Konocti Winery's families are passionate about seeing their farming operations continue for future generations.

History

Mt. Konocti Winery originates from family pear farmers who joined together in 1926 as the Lake County Fruit Exchange, an agricultural cooperative. In 1976, the Lake County Fruit Exchange changed their name to Mt. Konocti Growers, to better reflect the local farmers the cooperative was serving. In 2004, Mt. Konocti Growers expanded into the wine industry, providing services for wine making, custom crush, barrel storage, case storage and vineyard management. In 2007, the Carpenter Family, Gayaldo Family, Hanson Family and Oldham Family – all members of Mt. Konocti Winery – began bottling wines.
