Our son, Bobby Ludwig, is our graphic designer and responsible for creating our brand... the famous Goat in the Glass. He handles all of our creative work from label designs to our handmade rustic sign at Barley Creek.
Our son, Austin Rice, is Randy's assistant and has had a hand in everything from building our barns to assisting Randy during the winemaking and distilling processes.
Our daughter, Jennifer Hart, has supplied us with all of the incredibly delicious gourmet cheeses and many of the other foods we pair with our wines here at the winery and distillery.
And lastly, our daughter, Jennifer Espaillat, has provided us with a much needed escape every year to the warm weather of Florida during these cold Pocono winters. A great opportunity to recharge.
Our family continues to grow with the addition of some terrific staff. Crystal works full-time in the tasting rooms and at off-site events. Maricela, Lynn, and Susan assist in various capacities in the tasting rooms and throughout the winemaking facility and vineyard.
And then there's Bob "Dad" Rice who helps in the vineyard and with our new permaculture garden.
Practices & Techniques
Geothermal and solar energy heats and cools our new wine making facility. This technique also provides temperature control during the fermentation process. Our new LED lighting in our facilities now only consumes 1/5 of the energy previously used.
In our vineyard, we continually strive to use sustainable methods for growing our grapes and stewarding our land. Compared to industry standards, our wines contain a small fraction of sulfites, resulting in a clean and crisp selection of remarkable wines.
