Home Hill Wines
The winery is set amongst an immaculate vineyard with stunning mountain views making it the prefect option for wedding receptions, corporate events or a relaxing lunch. We are a country retreat for many; the peacefulness of the Huon Valley and the vineyard entices many people to come and relax for a few hours in a tranquil setting. Traveling from Hobart, follow the A6 highway, stay in the middle lane when approaching Kingston, travel another twenty minutes, and this will take you to the Grove Strait. Turn right off the highway where the Home Hill sign is, and travel over the historic Oates Bridge. Your destination is now only 2 km away; there is signage at Nairn Street directing you.
We are situated in the small village of Ranelagh, a short thirty minute drive south of Hobart in the beautiful Huon Valley region.

Apples were once produced on the site of the vineyard, along with memories of the years gone by when their three young children were placed in bulk bins to entertain themselves while they harvested their crops of apples.
Now their youngest son, Sean, assists Terry with the careful planning and assiduous cropping levels of the 6 hectare vineyard. Daughter Kelly left her profession as a nurse and teamed up with the family to assist in the marketing of wine and managing of the Restaurant.
The family members now love to share their beautiful property with visitors. They consider Home Hill to be the perfect place to celebrate the good things in life.
Estate Vineyards / AVA
The Huon Valley sits on the same degree of latitude as Bordeaux in France (albeit forty-three degrees south of the equator rather than north). These regions share a similar climate, with winters featuring fog, frost and snow, and an abundance of spring rain. This allows for the slow ripening of fruit during warm months and the perfect conditions for cool climate wine to be produced.
