History

Back In The Day:

For most of its life, the barn on Jordan Road housed animals. Built in 1919 by Ed Courtright's grandfather, it has been passed down through the family, initially housing draft horses, then show horses as Ed's children grew up.

A Labor of Love:

The partners decided to renovate the barn, turning it into a tasting room and production area. The stalls, feed bins and concrete were removed and new concrete was poured throughout the building. The concrete crew did an excellent job stamping and painting the floors; the next time you visit, be sure to check out the tasting room floor!

Renewed and Restored:

Once the concrete was poured, a new roof was installed, the tasting bar went in, and the production area construction began. All told, 6 contractors installed electric, plumbing, heating/cooling, internet/phone, and various other winery-specific utilities.

Open At Last!:

After years of paperwork, planning, construction, more planning, and more paperwork, Carpenter Creek Cellars opened to the public on March 23, 2013. Since then, we've been sharing the world of wine with northern Indiana and those traveling through, giving a unique glimpse into agricultural tourism.
