Antcliff’s Chase Wines is a small, family-owned and run vineyard and winery. We are committed to the production of quality table wines that display the full gamut of varietal and regional characters in the glass.

Situated at Caveat, midway between Yea and Euroa in the Strathbogie Ranges of North Eastern Victoria.

The five hectares of vines were established by John Antcliff Bennett snr, Neomie Bennett and son Chris Antcliff Bennett in 1982.

Wines under the Antcliff’s Chase label have been produced since 1989.

Today Chris Antcliff Bennett together with wife Susan and children Laura, John and Jessica produce an average of 800 cases of wine each year that is sold mainly at the cellar door, selected restaurants and through mail order to Scarecrow Wine Club members.

Practices & Techniques

All major activities such as pruning, picking and thinning are carried out by hand. Our vines are grown with minimal use of agricultural chemicals and no fertilizers or supplementary irrigation occurs. In the winery simple but effective techniques are undertaken such as open fermenters, hand plunging and the use of a basket press to produce wines of excellent character.

Estate Vineyards / AVA

The vineyard is at an elevation of 580 metres, on soils composed of well-draining, granitic, sandy loams which are relatively infertile and deep. While these conditions do not mean large yields, they do allow the grapes to develop strong flavours and characters.

Our cellar door is open for wine tasting and sales each weekend between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm. Week day visits are by appointment.
