We are honored to have Signe Zoller as our chief winemaker.

Signe Zoller graduated from University of California, Davis with a master's degree in food science. She has over 30 years of wine making experience, including 11 years as a winemaker in Kendall Jackson and Meridian vineyards. Her wine has won numerous gold medals in many competitions. She was named the winemaker of the year in the Middle California Expo, she also served as the Chairwomen of Paso Robles Grape Cultivation and Viticulture, and Chairwoman of wine growers association (now known as Paso Robles Wine Alliance).

Based on her years of experience and innovation, Signe is a pioneer in the acclaimed Wine industry. She worked in the Australia and California Wine regions, and won many wine awards, including the California state fair, Long Beach and Monterey Wine contest award for best performance. In the Chronical Wine Competition contest held in San Francisco in 2010, her 15 wines all won medals. She also served as chairman or judge in several wine contests.

Practices & Techniques

Grapes are hand harvested to control quality. The grapes are fermented in small lots of 500 to 3,000 gallons.

Secondary, malolactic fermentation is done in 59 gallon French Oak barrels from various cooperages and aged for one year "sur lie", prior to first racking. The wine continues aging in barrels for a minimum of two years or more. After aging the wine is filtered, bottled, then released 60 days after bottling.

Estate Vineyards / AVA

The total holding consists of 149 acres of prime viticulture land, of which 55.5 acres are planted in grapevines.

Importance is placed on meticulous vineyard management. Our vineyards are planted from East to West direction to maximize exposure to the sun to acheive maximum ripeness. Vines are managed to produce small yields, small berries and intense flavors to make wines of distinction.

Rolling hills of our estate and the different variety of soil are ideally suited to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel and other varieties. Additional varieties of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal are currently propagated.
