SO THANKFUL SANGRIA


There are many things to be thankful for this holiday season, let's make our So Thankful Sagria one of them! Grab your wine pals and sip on this boozy but purely delicious wine cider.

Serving Size: up to 8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 (750-ml) bottle of red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon

  • 4 cups of apple cider

  • 2 red apples, such as Gala

  • 2 green apples, such as Granny Smith

  • 1 green pear

  • 1 orange, zested and juiced

  • ¼ cup of honey

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg

  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves

  • ½ teaspoon of allspice

  • 4 oranges, peeled for garnish


  1. Wash all fruit well and cut into large chunks. Combine the fruit, cider, wine, and honey in a large saucepan.

  2. Tied inside of a cheesecloth or tea bag, add the spices: cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice to the saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 1 hour. Pour into mugs, add an orange peel to each and serve.
