The wineries in Monterey come packaged with panoramic views of the California coast. Having a climate that is cooler than warm, the wines that are more popular here are Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Noir. Cabernets which require warmer climates can be found in wineries in Monterey which are in the Carmel Valley which are in the shade of the Santa Lucia Mountains.
