The Sanitation Lead is responsible for the implementation of sanitation procedures for all equipment related to the production process while adhering to company's FSMA and safety regulations. This position is required to work the graveyard shift. Sanitation: (60%) • Direct Lead for graveyard sanitation duties with the ability to lead and direct full time and temporary staff to assigned sanitation functions. • Promotes teamwork among operations and all winery personnel. • Prioritize, facilitates and leads operational activities in all areas relating to production sanitation. • Monitoring and troubleshooting each CIP process, along with documenting faults that may occur and logging corrective actions daily. • Perform non-routine sanitation of production equipment as directed by Manager. • Communicates with Lab and Cellar departments on status of sanitation readiness and assists lab with equipment operation while swabbing. • Ensure implementation of all FSMA adhering to 20 CFR 117 cGMP and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment. All utensils are to adequately cleaned, stored and maintained to protect against contamination. • Ability to understand, implement sanitation, equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain and update the SOPs as necessary, (then to be discussed and approved by the food safety team). • Monitors sanitation supply inventory and stock requirements. General Tasks: (10 %) • Assists production with line start up. • Safely operate forklift and hand truck. • Perp superblock filler after CIP for production startup, including installation of star wheels and filler guides. • Assists Maintenance staff in routine changeover of production equipment and supporting machinery. Communication of any observed machine abnormalities Organizing: (15%) • Performs general duties as assigned, or as the situation dictates. • Keep work areas clean, organized and maintained. • Ensures proper equipment use, maintenance, and storage for all sanitation and production equipment. • Maintains knowledge and understanding of hazardous material and safety procedures assuring adherence by subordinate staff Administrative: (15%) • Ensure all second hand containers are marked clearly, chemicals areas are maintained and placed in the proper locations. • Notify Management when orders need to be placed in a timely manner. • Lead Sanitation staff to ensure cleaning requirements are maintained, assist in the scheduling of special duties for Sanitation staff • Keep accurate sanitation logs and records. Completing daily sanitation checklists for each process, daily, weekly, monthly and annually. • Participates in training and safety programs as directed by Manager in order to enhance job performance and knowledge of safe work practices. Requirement: This position is required to work the grave yard shift Education: High school diploma or GED required. Languages: English Professional experience & know how: • Minimum 2 years' winery sanitation experience. • Knowledge of safe sanitation practices, including safety of equipment and following procedures. • Ability to drive a forklift and become forklift certified. Technical & management skills: • Ability to understand and perform basic math. • Ability to understand and perform basic measurements. Personal & interpersonal skills: • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
