Huneeus is seeking an experienced, ambitious professional to assist the Corporate Controller in leading the accounting team. The Accounting Manager at Huneeus is a central role who interacts daily with various departments, outside vendors and executive management. Must be a strong communicator who is passionate about problem solving, teamwork and continuous improvement. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for a multitude of accounting duties including oversight of the accounting staff, management of the general ledger, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, audit preparation and accounting policy and process documentation and improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Manages day-to-day accounting functions including but not limited to: general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets. • Manages month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process including review of all journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure reported numbers are prepared on time and are presented accurately. • Deliver financial reporting and analysis. Understand and interpret financial data within greater context of the business. Responsible for P&L variance analysis and balance sheet review. • Manages year-end audit including establishing and enforcing an audit timeline, preparation of audit requests and draft financial statements and footnotes. • Manages preparation of data requests from external CPA's related to tax filings. • Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance (i.e. - property tax filings, sales tax filings, etc.). • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to research and prepare technical memorandums on new accounting standards applicable to the Company. • Assists in annual budgeting and forecasting process. • Prepare journal entries which require critical thinking. • Prepare quarterly and annual bank covenant compliance packages. • Assist with insurance policy renewals, certificates and other ad hoc insurance needs. • Assist in implementing systems, processes, and software that automate internal accounting processes and improve efficiency. • Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop accounting staff. • Work closely and develop good working relationships with employees inside and outside the accounting department. • Assist with related special projects as required. QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 7+ years of related experience, including 2 years of people management experience. • Wine industry and/or public accounting experience a plus. • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. • CPA strongly preferred. • Strong leadership skills. Ability to drive process improvements and departmental efficiencies. Ability to work with all levels of management. • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Experience with and a strong understanding of financial systems. Dynamics AX/365 or Navision experience a plus.
