Lodi Wine Tasting

One of the great things about California wine country is that some of the best regions in the state are within a short drive of the major cities. A perfect example of that is Lodi, which sits about one to one and a half hours away from San Francisco, Sacramento, and San Jose. Lodi wine tasting can be enjoyed as a day trip from any of those major cities, but there is also ample opportunity to stay and have some fun for a few days. With so much going on and so many vineyards and tasting rooms in Lodi and the surrounding areas, it’s no surprise that this is considered one of the most exciting wine destinations in the state.

While many regions require you to take to the road to sample the wines made there, Lodi has plenty of places to go in the downtown area. There are no less than 13 different Lodi wine tasting rooms located in the heart of downtown, allowing you to take a walking tour without the need for a designated driver. If you do decide to spread your wine tasting wings a little further, we recommend that you select driver or go with one of the many transportation options that exist within Lodi.

Getting out of the city is how to get access to the more than 85 wineries that operate in the Lodi region. That is an awful lot of places to choose from, which is why the tasting rooms in downtown Lodi are such a good place to start your journey. Heading to the tasting rooms lets you sample wines from the wineries that are spread all across the region. It’s a great way to narrow down the places that you really want to visit, and may also help you discover smaller, family-owned wineries that you might not otherwise have known about.

There are a number of great Lodi wine tasting events that take place throughout the year, including one that pairs the great wines of the region with chocolate. The ZinFest Wine Festival, which takes place every May, is another great time to visit, as there is plenty of amazing fun and food on offer to go with the Lodi wines. There are even some events that do not take place in Lodi. The winemakers of the region take to Sacramento, San Francisco, and more for wine festivals that allow them to show off their creations. Spreading the word in his way is an excellent opportunity to show potential visitors the quality of wine being made in the region.

While the Lodi wine region is close to many of the major cities in this part of the state, you still get the sense that you are away from it all when you take a trip there. It is why so many people choose it as a day trip out of the city, choosing Lodi wine tasting as one of the ways to relax after a tough week at work. The people, places and, wine are so good, it’s a trip you will want to take more than once.
